There are things you taste… and there are things you remember. Velvet Bloom was born from a quiet obsession to capture the wild, citrus-tart kiss of our wild Kelulut honey in a form so decadent, it could stop time.
The story begins not in a factory, but in the warm, fragrant kitchen of Kié Patisserie. Afternoon light spilled across marble countertops, dusting the air with the scent of cocoa and cream. Our honey, liquid gold from the rainforest was waiting. But the moment we tried to tuck it into dainty bonbons, it misbehaved. It slipped past boundaries, flowed where it pleased, and refused to sit quietly in the corner like a polite filling.
Most chocolatiers would have called it impossible. We didn’t. We courted it. We coaxed and experimented until we found a way for the chocolate to hold the honey without dimming its light. The answer came in the form of a tender cocoa-dusted shell, cloaked in silky chocolate, each layer designed to cradle the tangy heart of kelulut honey not to control it, but to let it shine.
Bite in, and the shell yields with a soft sigh. The honey surges forth, alive, aromatic, and joyfully chaotic — the kind of mess that drips onto your fingers and makes you grin as you lick them clean. There’s a sharp brightness, then a slow melt into deep, dark chocolate. It’s a conversation between opposites rainforest wildness in whispered dialogue with Parisian patisserie elegance.

The Story Behind Bloom au Noir
"Bloom au Noir" means "Bloom in the Dark", a rare flowering in shadows. It speaks of beauty and sweetness born not under the glaring sun, but in quiet, hidden places. Just as some flowers bloom at night, kelulut honey is created in secret, deep inside the dark labyrinth of their hives.
Kelulut stingless bees store their honey in small resinous pods — glistening, jewel-like chambers, hidden from light. Inside, the honey matures slowly, absorbing the aroma of propolis, resin, and wild nectar, creating a flavor profile unlike any other. This is the bee’s "bloom in the dark" — nature’s own Bloom au Noir.
